HDR Photography Inspiration

When the not so photographer sees an HDR image they will usually love it. It is different from what our eye can natural see which us as humans will usually naturally enjoy. Our eyes can zoom, we have 180 degree vision, we can sort of bokeh, we can even concentrate enough to see things without directly looking at it but when it comes to creating the dramatized fantasy look, its all about HDR. The HDR Image gives you much needed insight about the multiple exposure photography, from programs to create these images to explanations why to answers to questions you probably have. They have done plenty of research and they are gladly share it. Take a look, you can make your fantasy's come true.

HOLLOW DOUBT - the best of both worlds

Some people live life wanting to live the best of both worlds whether its wishing they owned a truck when their moving instead of a car or wishing they lived this world just a little bit taller...well if your into quality photography and the street art scene Hollow Doubt just made your world come true. Very recently the blog Melrose & Fairfax took them selves out of the blog game. Maybe the passion was lost or maybe it was feeling the pressure of websites/Instagrams like Hollow Doubt. An Iphone camera can only do so much. Until you learn how to play with a DSLR you will live life flatter than those who do. Hollow Doubt knows how to do it. There website is wordless, the name is random, the photos are interesting, the entire concept is smooth. The world just got better.

Melrose & Fairfax - Street art blog - calling it quits

So if you enjoy street art, one of the great city's to get your fix on is Los Angeles. It is an ever changing scene and to watch it unfold is an entertaining & inspiring experience. For the past handful of years Melrose & Fairfax was able to capture what it can in there walks or drives around the city. The blog created a fame for some artist that would get up everywhere but the fame for some of them artists wasn't always a positive thing. M&F was very opinionated and if they didn't like what they saw in the streets they would create a post that would express all there negative thoughts. STRIKE one... M&F has claimed to be the #1 street art blog in the U.S. so the power of there perception was strong. If you were an artists that wasn't liked by M&F you would know about it and they had a bunch of readers that would robotically agree. A very scary thought if your trying to get your name out in the LA scene. Often the blog would post there own paste ups and stickers and speak third party about it but that is just shameless promotion, you cant mark them for that. But a good thing, a majority of the blog posts were purely the documentation of art that didn't last too long, a very interesting blog to watch. Now that they threw in the towel, what will you do now?......Instagram has all the photos you need of the street art scene. So, in the end, it was a good run for Melrose & Fairfax, it will not soon be forgotten.The simple camera from an iphone, dedication, a skateboard, and a dog is proven to be all you need to start a blog. Get up Stay up!

About a year a ago So Cal street artist Bandit got with Wanderlust Industries and gave us a sneek peek into his elusive lifestyle. Not sure who Bandit paired up with this time but he is currently is working on another film project. Nice filming, good edit and some pretty good art. Sit forward and enjoy.

What can be more disappointing than a broken lens? It feels so personal, its almost in describable. Well, a good way to get your mind in a better place is to click through the work being done at The Slanted Lens. They introduce an inspiring view of photography through their website and through their You Tube Channel .If you need time to kill or need a boost of inspiration, always remember, a slanted lens is much better than a broken one.

When your thursting for more education by searching the internet, don't forget to make some mistakes. When Goggling your thoughts, mistakes can open up a world of new information. Recently, a search for Photography 101 ended up as Photography 10. This mistake was a good one. Lots of good top 10 photography tips appeared and caused excitement and lots of new information. Imperfection is beauty.

Lab Art Gallery - Solo Show by Alec Monopoly

So if all it takes to be a very successful artist is to remix other peoples art and to make sure to do it well then cheers to Alec Monopoly . He has managed to use the Monopoly man in most of his street works to get his name out there. An already recognizable image is sometimes a short cut to the top. This site contains many ideas for the camera enthusiast. Many of the many ideas are DIY projects to create a cheap stabilizing systems for filming with your DSLR,which is very fast growing new thing to do. Don't be left behind and get with it or else you will be the one looking like the cheese head.

How To Make Your Own Wheat Paste!

Boil 1 cup of water. In a cup or a bowl make a thin mixture of 3 tablespoons of  flour and cold water (just enough to wet all the flour and make it liquid enough to pour). Turn the flame of the boiling water down to just above simmer (medium flame). Pour the cold mixture slowly into the hot water while stirring constantly for about 2-3 minutes.Bring to a boil. When it thickens, shut it off and allow to cool. For better strength, while its starting to cool, stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar. Allow it to completely cool before use. Almost completely cool will still do the job. If after it cools your wheat paste is too thick simply add water and mix around until the paste stirs semi smooth. Quite often while cooking, the evaporation of water creates the thickness. For a larger amount simply multiply the ingredients.

Chicago based Left Handed Wave

So Chicago?...Street Art??? Yes, its everywhere and by the looks of the spots Left Handed Wave hits , he knows where they all are. Chicago almost reflects the Los Angeles street art spots but with either a fresh coat of paint or bricks that have never been touched. Left Handed Wave put in his time and has branded the 'face' in all of his street art. He can stick the 'face' in anything and its Left handed Wave. His art is clever, using costumes, his art it catchy, using the 'left handed wave', his art is funny, using the signature banana and his art celebrates holidays. Left Handed Wave is evolving and might be a little alone in Chicago, but its working.

Mr. Ramano went big in Huntington Beach

Like i have mentioned before in previous posts Orange County street art is rare. The city's like to keep the place clean and nice looking which is what we all want? right? Well Mr. Ramano has managed to make this plain ole' black sign better by adding this huge Marilyn Monroe for all to see on the corner of Edinger & Gothard in Huntington Beach. If this doesn't make the city look good i don't know what else would.

Street Art Is Dead

Street Art Is Dead? That's so not true and the blog Street Art Is Dead feels the same and they have a clever definition to back it up. "...at birth, each piece is consciously made knowing demise is almost certain....Street art is born dead" Very well put. The crew at Street Art Is Dead is wanting to pay tribute to the art in the streets from around the world and welcomes any documentation that you may have so they can provide the artists a site to go and look back on to recall there work. Sort of like an "encyclopedia" as they very well put it on there About page. If you have art work you have captured in the streets, send it there way by visiting there Contact page. "All The Girls Love Earl" - Earl Lee - Street Artist

Street art is in the blood. You are always looking for spots that will suit your art and when you find it you wont forget it until you put it there.  Earl Lee is one of those people. Orange County isn't the art mecca of So Cal street art, its mostly small businesses that use street art to promote there brand. Earl Lee, on the other hand, was into the 'LA' style of street art and promoted his art with no care in the world, mainly in the Newport Beach area with "All The Girls Love Earl" posters.  After making his mark in the OC he has popped up all over Los Angeles posting his original art work and has also done a collaboration with Mittenimwald. His stuff is good, Earl is handsome and all the girls love him.

HARD Summer 2012

Summer is here which means, let the party's begin. HARD Summer is back for another banging good time. Custom GameBoy Clock by Mr. Ramano

If you put some thought into what can be done with a vintage Nintendo GameBoy plenty of thoughts can fill your mind.  You then Google your thoughts and come to realize way more has been done with the GameBoy then you have ever imagined. Mr. Ramano took it to another level. He replaced the original GameBoy screen with glass and set behind it a fully functional clock! He then brought it to life by adding arms and to top it all off its balancing on a spring. This is most definitely a one of a kind. And for another cherry on top, there is word that he has made more than just one. So it sounds like we may have a chance to own one of his clever clocks. I hope so.

Corey Helford Gallery welcomes, Ron English

Ron English Ron English Ron English, what else is there to say.  Maybe that the lovley couple that created the Corey Helford Gallery was more than excited to welcome the man.  Hes one that inspires. He reminds you of a time in your life, then recreates it in the way you understand it from your point of view of maturity? A creative remixer of art.  The resin sculptures he made would fit perfect in any corner of your home. His work is worth the close up and personal look. Seasons In Supurbia will be on display until December 10, 2011 @ the Corey Helford Gallery. 

Together as One New Years Eve 2012

Do you know what your doing for New Years 2012?  Well if you have been a long time fan of The Bloody Beetroots, Together as One NYE is where you want to be.  The Bloody Beetroots will be djing to ring in the new year along with Duck Sauce, Felix Da HouseCat, Diplo and many more!  Together as One has set up a spectacular fireworks show to top it all off! It will be held @ Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, CA and it will be a  nice early 5:00pm start and will last until 2:00am. Non stop dancing, sweating and excitement to all and to all a good night.

Top of the Dome 8 @ the Crewest Gallery

If you enjoy the artistic value of the human skull, let me introduce you to the view Crewest has. There yearly exhibition is called Top of the Dome. They make over one hundred white ceramic skulls and have them available for purchase for the artistic. The artists are then informed to do whatever they want to the skull and have it returned by a given date. A nice variety of artists participate in this now 8 year long running show which makes it very interesting.  The skulls range from the simple to the time consuming to the very detailed, all are pleasing to admire. Below is a sneak peak of the show that will be running until November 27 2011.
